• The coach shall be aware that he or she has a tremendous influence, for either good or ill, on the education of the athlete and, thus, shall never place the value of winning above the value of instilling the highest ideals of character. DO WHAT'S RIGHT, NOT WHAT'S EASY.
  • Coaches shall be responsible for the conduct of all players, members of the coaching staff and spectators. This includes the time periods before, during and after league games and other events.
  • Improper conduct, in the judgment of the game officials, on the part of the players, coaches or spectators may result in penalties, expulsion and suspension or forfeiture of the game.
  • The coach shall avoid the use of alcohol and tobacco products when in contact with players.
  • The coach shall master the contest rules and shall teach them to his or her team members, staff and parents. The coach shall not seek an advantage by circumvention of the spirit or letter of the rules.
  • The coach shall show good sportsmanship, respect and support contest officials. The coach shall not indulge in conduct which would incite players or spectators against the officials. Public criticism of officials or players is not prohibited.
  • Coaches will strictly adhere to the policies, regulations and rules of the YFA and set a proper example with their actions for everyone to follow.
  • Before and after contests, coaches for the competing teams should meet and exchange cordial greetings to set the correct tone for the event.


  1. Download the certification form
  2. Fill out the very first tab listed as "Football Info" listing players in numerical order.
  3. The information will then transfer to the roster and each additional affidavit.
  4. Follow the instrcutions to place the picture inside the affidavit that matches the player information.
  5. When finished and ready to print, click "entire workbook" and everything will print out.

  2. Pass the USA Football Heads Up Level 1 certification.
  3. Attend the YFA Policies, Regulations and Playing Rules Clinic.
